Summer kid karate in Glastonbury CT – news and summer camp information
Most of us parents have summers that are filled w/ camps, vacations, and summer fun. For some families July and August are two months to change up the routine. Or maybe do away with a weekly routine all together. But for others the summer adds a lot of hours to fill with the kids. If you are the later think about adding a weekly martial arts lesson to give your child a fun, structured, and productive outlet this summer.
My summer program provides several options for the kids. For my existing students…keeping active is important for their progress. They have worked hard all year to learn their techniques, kata, and grappling skills. Help them to not forget everything by keeping them in the studio at least once per month.
– Relaxed weeknight scheduling – Due to lower attendance it is OK to attend any class that fits your weekly schedule. I typically assign kids to each class in order to control the groupings and size. But over the summer just come on down anytime and as often as you can. In Sept I’ll send a reminder of what class your karate kid is assigned and rework the rosters.
– Summer karate camps – I will be holding morning camps on Fridays – July 27th & August 10th from 9.30am-12pm. Coach Ryan and I will keep the kids busy w/ martial arts, games, and a few craft projects. If you miss 4 classes over the summer months you can swap for a camp. If you are adding a camp to your weekly classes they are $50 per child. Note – a minimum of 8 kids must be participating. I’ll send out reminders when closer to ask for rsvp.
